NEW AGE CAREER IN TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Mathematics organized a career guidance webinar for the students of Mathematics department on 13th August 2021. As education systems are diversifying and expanding, the creation of new jobs and opportunities are changing the way individuals make their career choices.With such changes in place, career planning has become more complex and confusing. The main objective of the webinar was to introduce various certification courses available and hence to open new career opportunities for the students.
The programme named “NEW AGE CAREER IN TECHNOLOGY” was in collaboration with a leading up-skill platform in India “AVODHA”. The webinar was conducted in Google meet at 11:30 am. A total of 51 students from UG and PG classes of Mathematics Department participated in the programme. The event started with prayer by Jiya M of S5 Bsc Mathematics. The prayer was followed by welcome speech by Amina Sakkeer of S3 BSC Mathematics. The resource persons of the programe were Ms Dilnas (Team Manager, Avodha) and Ms Haritha (Team Leader, Avodha).
Both of the resource persons spoke in this virtual session to give students an insight on various courses which will aid in helping them choose their career. Ms Haritha started the session discussing the importance of guidance to choose a perfect career for the students. She also discussed the importance of acquiring certificate courses in addition to the University syllabus. She added that these certificate courses helps to improve skill of the students and makes them employable. She also added that “certification course helps an individual to showcase ones competency, commitment for the profession, build expertise in their professional subject area, and helps with job advancement. It is a designation earned by a person giving a kind of assurance to the company of ones competencies of performing a job.”
Then Ms Dilnas talked about the courses Avodha provides. Python and big data, Stock market, Digital marketing, Medical coding are few of the fields in which Avodha provides certificate courses. They not only provide courses but also provides internships and also help students to get placed in best companies. She also shared that Avodha provides guidance for CPC exam.
The session was very informative and enriching and helped students to discover new opportunities and to enroll in courses which they found interesting. After the session there was a doubt clearance session through which students could clarify their confusions. They also personally texted to all the students registered and made assure to guide them. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Nusaiba of S2 MSc Mathematics.
